I will be dropping the old site at Geocities the end of June to give people a chance to update their links.I enjoyed working with Geocites but now am looking forward to working with this new company. I still have the increased bandwidth so people can be able to access my patterns and not see error messages when downloading patterns. There area few links I need to update but otherwise, everything is there and working great.I'm looking forward to an even bigger and better website for all.

Linda BohrnLindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01593783633728808783noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1838322269247440095.post-50638478356439279612009-04-12T11:32:00.000-07:002009-04-12T11:34:40.292-07:00Donations from Jackie LarsonJust received another package from Jackie Larson from Crisfield, MD. So many have been hard hit by the economic changes in the world yet they still donated slippers, hats, scarves, mittens and skeins of yarn. I didn't get a picture of the donations but there were several big black plastic bags to deliver. I've already seen several of the hats and mittens on children in the store. I just smiled knowing that this is the face of a child we have helped keep warm. I am going to scan a copy of the letter to post for all to see. One of my resolutions this year is to post the donations one my blog like I originally planned on doing in the first place, then life changed things. thank you to everyone for helping keep a child warm, especially since last night we received over a foot of snow in one night. It is think, wet and deep. We haven't had a storm like this in a while and there is still more to come today and tomorrow.Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01593783633728808783noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1838322269247440095.post-56787711331082460282008-11-11T13:37:00.000-08:002008-11-11T13:48:09.191-08:00Great YarnsI finally found the yarn I bought in Utah at my family reunion. I plan on knitting hats with it as it is a self patterning yarn and looks fantastic knitted up. Kind of like doing a puzzle and waiting to see the end result. I would take a pic and post it but my camera is packed away for a trip I have to take for work that will last a week. Hopefully I may have a few started and finished by the time I return. Red Heart Strata: Pogo and Encore Colorspun: Just a color number but it looks like a rainbow with a little bit of black licorice mixed in - yum. I'm going to see if I can find more variegated yarn and white baby yarn and knit or crochet them together fro scarves for a different effect.

Sorry I haven't posted what I received this year. So many slippers with hats and scarves included. One of my new year resolutions is to do a better job of posting as I receive the donations. You are all in my thoughts as I look at the donations and the love that went into every single stitch.Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01593783633728808783noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1838322269247440095.post-16431170313625995132008-01-13T10:01:00.000-08:002008-01-13T10:38:16.939-08:00Hats, Hats, and More HatsHere are some of the hats I have been working on during the past few weeks. Winter break from classes meant that I was able to work on making hats for SCT (Steven's Comfy Toes). I have a few scarves on the needles and hooks too. Here are a few pics of the hats:

These fruity hats make me think of Spring and Summer. There's a peach hat, strawberry hat, cherry/apple hat, orange hat, and lemon hat. These are so cute and easy to knit. Can we say "Instant Gratification"?
The strawberry hat has little curly que vines on the side and the seeds are little pieces of black yarn that are double knotted and then cut short all over the hat. These are so much cuiter in person.

These hats are crocheted using various patterns I found on websites. I received a few donations of yarn last year and wanted to make up some items with all the yarn.

The big pink hat is one of Marlo's hats. The quick and easy hat done with 2 strands of yarn and an N hook. The other pink hat was knit with double strands of yarn and a size 9 16" circ. Double strands does not work well with my hands at times though. The white hat is a pattern I recently found. I wanted to do cables and this turned out so nice. I can just see a girl in middle school wearing this hat. Think I may make more after I find the pattern again.

The multicolored hat was my first try with self striping yarn that was not variegated. looks do difficult but was so easy. The pink and white hat was my first successful attempt at fare isle knitting. That's one new year's resolution from last year that I completed. I want to now do a piece with a larger piece of color change and design now.

These are hats I cast on yesterday morning. I keep them in various locations so I always have something to work on. One by my rocking chair, on by the sofa and one on my computer desk to work on when I am reading class posts (classes are all online). I just LOVE the variegated yarns as I never know what type of pattern they will knit up as when I cast on. The top two hats are working in a spiral color pattern. The color changes for the other hat are a little more spread out as the sections of color and shorter and more varied. To the left is my little frog keeper. He unzips to hold my threader, yarn needles, stitch markers, safety pins and post it notes. You never know when inspiration might hit and you will need to write down the changes or ideas.Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01593783633728808783noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1838322269247440095.post-71300837201888284412008-01-13T09:46:00.000-08:002008-01-13T09:57:31.817-08:00Steven's Comfy Toes Blog Begins a New Year ! ! !Steven's Comfy Toes have moved from my Linda's Lists website to a new blog view. Between working full time a half hour dirve away and workign on my Master's degree full time I needed a way to keep everyone up to date as to donations, patterns, etc. that took less time. A website is wonderful but takes extra time to log in, find the page to update and save the changes. As of this year all new information about this charity will be posted to this blog. It is so much easier for me to jump on and post a change now. I have patterns I am going to post to this blog and will try to post pics sooner than at the end of the year. I will still keep a running tally so everyone will know where we stand.

As a reminder, we accept slippers (hence the comfy toes name) along with hats, scarves and mittens for the children in White Pine County Nevada and surrounding areas during the winter. I am looking at delivering donations during all the winter months and not just at Christmas time beginning this coming winter. If you have donated in the past or in the future I would like to add a link on the side to your website or blog so people can see and know those that care so much about these children.

I also plan on posting links to free patterns that are available online for people to make.Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01593783633728808783noreply@blogger.com0
